Review: Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu Syogun

Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu Syogun

Fuyu Syogun is a grey ink from Pilot Iroshizuku series. It is one of the 2 grey inks offered in the Iroshizuku series. The other grey ink is Kiri-Same. The Fuyu Syogun is the cooler colour of the two.

The Fuyu Syogun lays downs a fairly dark line (closer to black than grey) when it is wet. Once it dries, it turns to a lighter bluish-grey shade that reminds me of thunder clouds.

The Fuyu Syogun has great flow linke the other Iroshizuku inks that Ihave tried. There is some shading but not much really.

I had expected to like Fuyu-Syogun when I got a friend to buy it from Japan for me. However, it turns out that I didn't like the colour that much after all. The colour doesn't look strong or bold. It looks more ghostly or faded but maybe that was the intent. After all, it is a grey ink.

Let's see if the ink grows on me.
