Review: Noodler's 54th Massachusetts

Noodler's 54th Massachusetts

This bottle of Noodler's ink arrvied together with my January batch of ink drop. The smell of this ink is really quite strong, considering that most don't have any discernable smell at all.

54th Massachusetts is more of a dark green-black shade than the blue-black shade that I saw on Goulet Pens' Swab Shop. I am quite surprised that for an ink this dark and saturated, it has some slight shading. Dry time is really quite good as I write, it doesn't smurdge as much as some other inks that I have tried. Flow is really quite good however sometimes it comes out in gobs and the line is really thick in my TWSBI Diamond 580 F nib. This might be due to my fountain pen. The ink is looks really thick and opaque inside my TWSBI. Show through is quite bad on cheaper paper.
