Review: Sheaffer Balance

Sheaffer Balance

I purchased this beauty of a pen from Greg Minuskin's website. To be very clear I am NOT the Singapore Pen Sniper, if you frequent Greg's site you will know what I talking about. I only purchased two pens from him, this pen and a Weidlich flex nib pen which will be reviewed later.

The pen is black with gold accents, that's a timeless classic design. This Sheaffer Balance's nib is juicy and smooth. Uncapped the pen is 10.5cm and posted it is 12.3cm, the pen is very small and pocketable. It's a no brainer that the pen is more comfortable used when it is posted but I have small hands so it still works for me unposted. However, the smaller size also means a smaller ink capacity.

This is a nifty little pen to have in my arsernal.

Pros:

  • Pocketable
  • Classic design
  • Smooth stub nib

Cons:

  • Hard to be taken apart if you don't know what you are doing
  • Low ink capacity
