Review: Noodler’s Midway Blue

My thanks to Straits Pen for the ink sample.

Noodler’s Midway Blue is a bright blue that’s water resistant. It shades slightly but I think the draw is in the brightness of the colour. It reminds me of Pilot Iroshizuku Kon Peki. Even though the colour pops right off the page but I think this isn’t a very unique colour. The only stand out feature is its water resistance.

Review: Noodler’s Borealis Black

My thanks to Straits Pen for the ink sample.

I’ve filled my Pilot Vanishing Point with Noodler’s Borealis Black under the impression it is a super wet ink but I think my Pilot Vanishing Point has defeated it. It still writes kind of dry-ish. Noodler’s Borealis Black is a water resistant ink that’s usually very black. But I’m thinking this ink has it’s favourites and works differently in different pens. I’ve seen reviews online where people complained about the long drying times but I had the opposite problem in my Pilot Vanishing Point. So be wary of which pen you fill this ink in. My TWSBI Mini has no issues with Noodler’s Borealis Black and I’ve experienced the long dry times with the TWSBI Mini.

Review: Noodler’s Liberty's Elysium

I am trying out photographing my written review instead of scanning them. Let me know in the comments if you have any preference either way.

Noodler’s Liberty's Elysium is a Goulet Pens’ exclusive Noodler’s ink. It was created based on Noodler’s Blue but with the added properties of water resistance and semi-bullet proof-ness. Noodler’s Liberty's Elysium is a nice blue ink that shades well. I enjoy this colour a lot. However the US exchange rate and the high shipping costs gives me pause to getting a bottle for myself. For anyone else living in the US, don’t hesitate to buy one.

Review: Noodler’s Dumas Tulipe Noire

I am trying out photographing my written review instead of scanning them. Let me know in the comments if you have any preference either way.

Noodler’s Dumas Tulipe Noire is one of Fountain Pen Network’s exclusive ink. This is a purple ink that has a strong red / wine tone. It is a wet ink when paired with my Pelikan Twist. It was almost unusable. Noodler’s Dumas Tulipe Noire shades well from a matte wine stain colour to a dark brown-purple colour. It is an interesting colour that I don’t see often.
